About A Million of Us Foundation
The full name/registered name of the foundation is "A Million of Us." The abbreviation is "AMU." "A Million of Us" Foundation was established in the year 2020.
"A Million of Us" is a Foundation and not-for-profit, non-sectarian, non-partisan, ethically and morally bound in principles, non-religious, and working to achieve the overall development of children and young people in the society, with Nigeria as a starting point, then the world. It is a human-centred foundation.
"A Million of Us," is a registered body under the Registration Act governing NGO's and Foundations in the United States of America (USA).
The Challenge
Homelessness/Displacement represents a persistent, destructive societal presence and characterized by a difficult lifestyle often fraught with danger and discomfort. Statistics suggest that homelessness is escalating rapidly in scope and severity in Nigeria.
Approximately 10.2 million Nigerians in the six states that make up the country's northeast region require some kind of humanitarian or protection assistance, including 7.7 million people in the three worst affected states (Borno, Adamawa and Yobe). Women and children represent 85 per cent of those in need.
Nigeria, with a population of 182.2 million people, tops the list of the three countries in Africa with the highest population of IDPs.
Mission Objective
Shelter is a basic Human Need. Our Mission is to provide a Permanent Shelter with amenities, empowerment for 1000 (ONE THOUSAND) Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS) within Abuja and affected states of Nigeria.
Vision
We have the vision to provide 1000 (ONE THOUSAND) Permanent Shelters within the six (6) Area Councils (Abaji, Abuja Municipal, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje and Kwali) in Abuja for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS).

Criteria for Selection
A Million of Us will work with 700 Club Nigeria to select beneficiaries for the 1000 Permanent Shelter home for Internally Displaced Person's (IDPs) in Nigeria.
